Jolie Holland on Super Bowl Sunday
Jolie Holland is coming to Cambridge, but on Super Bowl Sunday. Rats. I think game time is 6:30pm, which means it's not absolutely out of the question. I just need to find a sports bar in Central Square.

Po' Girl Troubles
I bought the new Po' Girl Vagabond Lullabies release from a small store on a September trip to Oregon. It seemed to work fine in my rental car CD player. But when I got home to Massachusetts, it would not work in several CD players I tried.
I did a rebuy of Po' Girl Vagabond Lullabies at Tower, and while my CD player can play it I'm getting skips and spins. So I'm diagnosing this as defective manufacturing that doesn't run well on older players.

Johnny Cash Tributes
Q: Do you know the name of a Johnny Cash Tribute album that was released recently?
A: When you say recent, there were two tribute albums released a couple of years ago (I think I liked Kindred Spirits best of the two):

Johnny Cash Tribute, Kindred Spirits
Very recently, there was a Carter Family tribute album released in the last month that was produced by Johnny's son and has Johnny and his wife June Carter Cash as well as a number of other country stars:

No Po' Girl
Not on the rack at either Newbury Comics or Tower, and not listed on the Newbury Comics board for August releases. On the other hand, I didn't see their first CD either.
Here's what their label says:
Currently the band is working on their second release to be named "Vagabond Lullabies". The album will be released September 21st, 2004. Po' Girl will be playing at Canadian Folk Fests throughout the summer, while the fall of 2004 sees the band touring Italy, the UK, Eastern Canada, and the US. They also have plans for a tour of Australia in the winter of 2004/05.
